Turner, Adelaide Agnes Sedgley was born 16 May 1891 in Adlestrop. Daughter of Reuben Sedgley Turner and Caroline Ann Reed. She appears on the 1901 & 1911 censuses for Adlestrop. She died in 1957 in Birmingham, Warwickshire.

Turner, Albert Edward Sedgley was born 24 December 1883 and christened 10 Feb 1884 in Adlestrop. Son of Reuben Sedgley Turner and Caroline Ann Reed. He married Elizabeth May Bryce 2 March 1910 in York, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He was affiliated to the Salvation Army. He appears on the 1891 & 1901 censuses for Adlestrop; 1911 for 2 O'Hara Place, Toronto West, Ontario, Canada; 1921 for 228 McCaul Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He was a carpenter and a hatter. He emigrated to Canada in 1905.

Turner, Blanche Annie Sedgley was born 13 April 1885 and christened 24 May 1885 in Adlestrop. Daughter of Reuben Sedgley Turner and Caroline Ann Reed. She married William Thomas Dore 7 August 1909 in Adlestrop. She appears on the 1891 & 1901 censuses for Adlestrop; 1911 for Charlbury, Oxfordshire. She was a dressmaker's apprentice. In 1925, she lived at 157 Bristol Street, Edgbaston, Birmingham; in 1927 at 54 Springfield Road, Moseley, Birmingham; in 1935 at 302 Lakey Lane, Moseley, Birmingham; in 1939 at 117 Bushmore Road, Moseley (later Hall Green), Birmingham. She died in 1964 in Birmingham, Warwickshire.

Turner, Clara was born in 1858 in Broadwell, Gloucestershire. Daughter of Robert Turner and Elizabeth Freeman. She married George Phillips 12 October 1878 in Stow on the Wold, Gloucestershire. She appears on the 1861 census for Broadwell, Gloucestershire; 1871 for Bourton on the Water, Gloucestershire; 1881, 1891, 1901 & 1911 for Adlestrop. She died in 1922 in Stow on the Wold, Gloucestershire.

Turner 2nd Bt, Sir Edward was born 28 April 1719. Son of Sir Edward Turner 1st Bt and Mary Page. He married Cassandra(i) Leigh 3 September 1739 in Adlestrop. He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1735 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).3 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Turner, of Ambrosden, co. Oxford on 19 June 1735. He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1738 with a Master of Arts (M.A.). He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Great Bedwin between 1741 and 1747. He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.) by Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1744. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Oxford in 1754. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Penrhyn between 1761 and 1766. He died 31 October 1766. He is buried at Bicester, Oxfordshire.

Turner, Frederick James Sedgley was born 19 April 1886 and christened 27 June 1886 in Adlestrop. Son of Reuben Sedgley Turner and Caroline Ann Reed. He married Charlotte Annie Montgomerie 31 July 1913 in Spencer Street Chapel, Leamington, Warwickshire - the witnesses were Charlotte Ann Montgomerie and Herbert Bourton-Caldicott. He appears on the 1891, 1901 & 1911 censuses for Adlestrop. He was a bricklayer's labourer, a workhouse porter and a master draper. He lived at 6 Camberwell Terrace, Leamington, Warwickshire. He fought during the Great War. Private 51014, 9th Battalion, Cheshire Regiment. He was killed in action 19 July 1917 and is buried at Oosttaverne Wood Cemetery, Belgium. His date of death appears as 17 July 1917 on his gravestone.

Turner, Horace Reuben Sedgley was born 4 July 1899 in Adlestrop. Son of Reuben Sedgley Turner and Caroline Ann Reed. He married Beatrice Taylor in 1922 in Birmingham, Warwickshire. He appears on the 1901 & 1911 censuses for Adlestrop. He appears on the electoral rolls for 1918-1920. In 1925 & 1927, he was living at 30, Coplow Street, Ladywood, Birmingham; In 1930 & 1935, at 4 Agnes Terrace, Ladywood, Birmingham; in 1939 at 90 Highter's Heath Lane, Moseley, Birmingham. At the age of 18, he was 5'6 1/2'' and 110lbs. He enlisted with the Royal Fusiliers in 1917; he was discharged in 1919 due to a sight defect. He died in 1973 in Birmingham, Warwickshire. It seems that Horace would occasionally use his mother's maiden name - i.e. Horace Reuben Reed Turner.

Turner, Jane Rosa Sedgley (aka Jinnie) was born 5 April 1889 in Adlestrop. Daughter of Reuben Sedgley Turner and Caroline Ann Reed. She appears on the 1891 & 1901 censuses for Adlestrop; 1911 for Broadway, Worcestershire. She died 25 December 1945.

He appears on the electoral rolls for 1918-1920. He was a railway porter for Great Western Railway. He died 22 April 1938 in Birmingham, Warwickshire.

Turner, Maurice Edward Sedgley was born 23 May 1898 in Adlestrop. Son of Reuben Sedgley Turner and Caroline Ann Reed. He appears on the 1901 & 1911 censuses for Adlestrop. He was a builder and decorator. He fought during the Great War. Driver 199235, 5th Reserve Bty, Royal Field Artillery. He died 20 February 1917 in Brighton Military Hospital, Sussex, of pneumonia and is buried in the graveyard at Adlestrop.

Turner, Norah Alice Sedgley was born 2 April 1882 and christened 5 November 1882 in Adlestrop. Daughter of Reuben Sedgley Turner and Caroline Ann Reed. She married Arthur Evans 13 April 1914 in Adlestrop. She appears on the 1891 census for Adlestrop; 1901 for Paddington, London; 1911 for Worth, Sussex as a parlourmaid for the Hoare family. As Nora Evans, she appears on the 1922, 1925 & 1927 electoral rolls for 34 Woodland Road, Handsworth, Birmingham; in 1935 & 1939 for 104 Marsh Lane, Erdington, Birmingham, She died 21 January 1943 in Birmingham, Warwickshire.

(Turner), Reuben Sedgley was christened 27 September 1857 in Evenlode, Worcestershire. Son of James Sedgley and Priscilla Mills. He married Caroline Ann Reed 11 October 1881 in Adlestrop. He appears on the 1861, 1871 & 1881 censuses for Evenlode, Worcestershire (as Reuben Sedgley); 1891, 1901 & 1911 for Adlestrop (as Reuben S. Turner). He appears on the electoral rolls for 1889-1920. He was a stonemason. He lived at Glencoe Cottage. He died 17 April 1929 in Erdington, Birmingham, Warwickshire.

NB It seems that Sedgley is the true family name. Reuben adopted the additional Turner surname around the time of his marriage to Caroline. By the time of his death in 1929, he had stopped using Sedgley altogether. His descendants have all continued the Turner surname.

Turner, Sidney Howard  was born 17 July 1894 in Adlestrop. Son of James Turner and Fanny. He appears on the 1901 census for Bengeworth ST. Peter, Worcestershire. He enlisted with the 1st Royal Marines Battalion Royal Naval Division. He was killed as a result of enemy action 8 October 1918 and is buried at Anneux British Cemetary, Anneux, France.

Turner, William Sedgley  (known as Bill) was born 12 July 1887 in Adlestrop. Son of Reuben Sedgley Turner and Caroline Ann Reed. He married 1)Ada Absalom 30 October 1913 in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire - the witnesses were Robert Absalom and Jane Rosa Sedgley Turner; 2) Elsie Frances Jones 21 March 1925 in the Register Office, West Bromwich, Staffordshire. He was a painter and decorator and a Trade Union organiser. From 1913-1916 he lived at 1 King's Head Yard, Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. On 11 December 1915 in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, he enlisted as a private into the Chatham Division of the British Army. Private number 1888 of B Company Royal Marine Light Infantry. He had brown eyes and dark brown hair. He was 5'8''. He was reported missing 31 March 1918. He had been captured 24 March 1918 at Bertrincourt, France, during the first battle of Bapaume. On 17 June 1918 a message was sent to his mother, Caroline, to say that he had not been found. However, on 24 July 1918 it was confirmed that he had arrived at Parchim, Germany. He appears on the electoral rolls for 1925, living at 34 Woodland Road, Handsworth, Birmingham with his sister Norah and her husband. He appears on the 1939 Identity Card Register at Greenwood Avenue, Acocks Green, Birmingham. He died 14 July 1971 at 127 Greenwood Avenue, Acocks Green, Birmingham.
